Art, science and invention
Edinburgh College of Arts Research Seminar Series
Richard Brown: Informatics artist-in-residence
(and Mimetics)
Richard Brown works as a hybrid artist, inventor and entrepreneur creating interactive and mimetic experiences using a wide variety of media, including the digital, the analogue and the chemical. His work explores the perception of space, time and energy encompassing ideas from cybernetics, artificial life, interaction design, emergence, complexity and alchemy. In his lecture he will show examples of his work, describing the influences that have defined his explorations as he has moved between art and science, and across the analogue and digital divide. See Mimetics for further information.
